Sarah Fusco is a specialist in international and non-traditional security threats. Her work focuses on emergent security challenges such as increasing partner capabilities in maritime security and domain awareness, countering violent extremism, and analyzing complex challenges through wargaming. She has regional expertise in Africa, conducting research in Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire, and Botswana, as well as in the Indo-Pacific region.

From 2022 to 2023, she was assigned to the Office of Arctic and Global Resilience, where she served as a policy advisor within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. During her time in the Pentagon, her work mainly focused on incorporating non-traditional security challenges into existing national defense programming, collaborating often with the services and geographical combatant commands.

Fusco earned a Master of International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in international politics from Pennsylvania State University.
