Darlene Onuorah
Darlene Onuorah specializes in US-Japan relations, Japanese defense and foreign policy, and Northeast Asian security affairs. Her research at CNA focuses on the political-military dynamics of US allies and partners, maritime security cooperation, and regional media analysis.
Prior to joining CNA, Onuorah worked as a project associate on the Political and Security Affairs team at the National Bureau of Asian Research, where she led and supported projects on Asian geostrategic issues, US engagement in the Pacific Islands, and US-South Korea policy exchanges.
Onuorah earned a Master of Arts in international affairs with a concentration in US foreign policy from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in global studies from St. Edward's University. She has studied in Japan and speaks Japanese.
