Gordon Jaquith
Gordon Jaquith is the executive director of the Department of Navy Relations, where he leads CNA’s engagement and works with senior Navy leadership. He also serves as vice president and director of the Systems, Tactics, and Force Development division, where he leads a team of some 65 analysts who conduct quantitative analyses of weapons, sensors, networks, systems, and the tactics for mission success.
He was previously a member of the Senior Executive Service in the Defense Department, formerly serving as director of the Strategic, Defensive, and Science/Technology Division at the Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) office within the Office of the Secretary of Defense. There, he oversaw the research program for a portfolio of more than $80 billion per year, spanning the nuclear enterprise, missile and homeland defense, and advanced technology. Previously, he directed the Naval Forces Division at CAPE and was responsible for investment and warfighting assessments of submarines, surface ships, naval aircraft, weapons, and other platforms, particularly during the annual program and budget review process.
While in OSD, Jaquith received the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service, the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service, and the CAPE Bryan Creed Jack Award for Distinguished Defense Analysis. He holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Rochester, an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University, and a Master of Cost Estimating and Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School.
