HIGH‑LEVEL INSIGHTS FOR HIGH‑LEVEL CHALLENGES

Strategy and Policy Analysis Program

CNA’s Strategy and Policy Analysis Program helps U.S. government leaders understand national security and defense strategy challenges and analyze their options to address them. Our experts in military and naval affairs have provided on-site analytic support to Service-level headquarters and at U.S.-based and forward-deployed commands. We have conducted field research in dozens of countries and on a range of issues, including but not limited to the areas listed below:

  • Defense strategy, plans, policies, and posture
  • Strategic deterrence, including nuclear deterrence, conventional-nuclear integration, and missile defense
  • Robotic and autonomous system integration into military strategy
  • Alliance management and coalition operations
  • Naval campaigning in the Arctic, Indian Ocean, Caribbean and Latin America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East

Our analysis incorporates workshops, tabletop exercises, and Track 1.5 dialogues.
