Gender Research and Analysis

For several years we have been examining the national and international security implications of gender for the United States military, our allies and partners, and competitors. Our studies focus on recruiting, representation, performance, and integration of women into military services.  CNA also sponsors gender discussions around topics like the 2022 protests in Iran, the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and its impacts for women and girls, and cross-regional challenges and opportunities presented by the Women, Peace and Security agenda.

This workshop highlighted the perspectives of women leaders to develop regionally informed answers to the following question: Looking through a gender lens, how do connections between climate change and food access affect security and stability in the Pacific Islands?
