Lauren Hagy
Research Specialist
Lauren Hagy is an expert in domestic violent extremism, public violence, terrorism, and hate crimes. Her work focuses on threat assessments, evaluations of programs for preventing and countering violent extremism, and trends in domestic terrorism.
Her past research explored narratives used by extremist social media influencers to promote their ideologies online and the role social media plays in mobilization to violence. Before joining CNA, Hagy worked with researchers and law enforcement conducting open-source research and investigations.
Hagy is studying for a Master of Arts in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors in international relations from Boston University.
