Rebecca Norton

Rebecca Norton is an expert in business analysis. Her research includes the grants domain as part of the Grants Management Modernization (GMM) project and aeronautical information domain within the Federal Aviation Administration, Air Traffic Organization. Norton has spent eight years on the GMM project and established the AS-IS business architecture for all grants in FEMA and facilitated re-engineering activities for the TO-BE and lead requirements effort for the FEMA GO system.

Norton has supported the Federal Aviation Administration since 2010 and has worked with business units to understand processes and data with respect to airport and navaid information, obstacles, and Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs).

Norton was awarded CNA’s Institute for Public Research Principles Award, given to the individual who best demonstrates a commitment to the guiding principles of the Institute for Public Research.

Prior to joining CNA, Norton was a mathematics teacher with Teach For America and the Atlanta Public Schools where she taught high school mathematics at Benjamin E. Mays

Norton has a Master of Arts in mathematics from the University of Georgia, where she taught calculus and pre-calculus. Her thesis focused on mathematical modeling of seizures with integrate-and-fire neurons in zebrafish. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in quantitative sciences from the University of Florida.
