Cornell Overfield is a specialist in the relationship between maritime law and foreign policy. At CNA, he has worked on projects covering Arctic security and economic activity, improved engagement with allies and partners, and data analytics. His work and writing on U.S. national security strategy, Arctic affairs, and maritime law and law of the sea have appeared in Foreign Policy, The Economist, Politico, Lawfare and academic journals.
Overfield has Master of Arts in European and Russian studies from Yale and a Bachelor of Arts in history and international relations from the University of Pennsylvania. He is proficient in German, Russian, French, Python and R.
