Research Scientist

Christopher Sun is an expert in research-practice partnerships and policy analysis.

In his time at CNA, he has developed, implemented, evaluated and supported numerous research-practice partnerships in the fields of criminal justice and education. Sun currently serves as the director of the Bureau of Justice Assistance's Smart Policing Initiative Training and Technical Assistance Program. He also serves as an analyst on the Independent Monitoring Team for the Chicago Police Department Consent Decree.

Prior to joining CNA, Sun was the deputy director of the Regional Educational Laboratory - Appalachia, a federal contract serving the education research and technical assistance needs for Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Sun holds a master’s degree in public policy and administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and he received his bachelor's degree in public policy and psychology from the College of William and Mary.
