For nearly 30 years, the CNA Institute for Public Research has applied research, analysis, and technical assistance to solve complex problems in the public and government sectors. We work with more than 450 agencies and organizations to analytically assess challenges and develop responses that promote public safety, reduce violence, prevent crime, address victim needs and services, and improve police and corrections operations. Through methodologically sound scientific research grounded in field operations analysis and assistance—and through our close connections with justice agency management and operations—we help local, state, and federal organizations achieve practical results that save lives, promote justice, and improve efficiency, trust, and accountability in justice system operations.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE LEADER

CNA works directly with law enforcement and other justice agencies to develop and implement customized, evidence based training and technical assistance (TTA) that improves performance, and maximizes impact. Our diverse and experienced team of analysts, practitioners, and subject matter experts manage and support a wide range of TTA—from targeted assistance for individual agencies to complex national TTA initiatives that promote sharing of best practices broadly. We deliver TTA in many formats: curriculum development, facilitation and training, distance learning, conferences and workshops, publications, fieldbased assistance, peer learning, capacity assessments, on-site assistance by subject matter experts, program evaluation, online tools, and websites.
