Characteristics
of Reserve Component Officers
In FY 2000, the USCG Reserve accessed a total of 172 new
officers and the overall Reserve officer corps end-strength stood at 1,015.
Accessions were up, and the corps was down from FY 1999 (155 accessions
and 1,078 end-strength). By race/ethnicity and gender, members of the
overall USCG Reserve officer corps were more likely to be White and male
than were their DoD Reserve counterparts, as shown in Table 7.15.
