Characteristics of Reserve Component
Commissioned OfficersIn FY 1998, the USCG Reserve accessed a total of 144 new officers and the overall Reserve officer corps end-strength stood at
1,059. By race/ethnicity and gender, both the new Reserve officers and members of the overall USCG Reserve officer corps were more likely to be White and male than were their DoD Reserve counterparts, as shown in
Table 8.15.
